Putin believes that it is not certain that Russia needs a permanent basis in Syria
Russian President Vladimir Putin said today that it is not certain that Russia needs a permanent basis in Syria, because Moscow has weapons powerful enough to "hurt anybody" thousands of kilometers outside the Russian borders.
During the annual press conference granted, the President of Russia noted that it would never accept any foreign power to decide who will rule Syria and added that there is no way to resolve the crisis in Syria, in addition to a political solution.
Putin also stressed that Moscow generally supports the initiative of Washington to prepare a resolution to the UN Security Council on Syria, adding that the draft resolution is acceptable in its entirety.
