Luxembourg: Turkey has not established that retains the wave of refugees to Greece
Ankara has not provided sufficient evidence that it has managed to reduce the movement of migrants to the Greek islands, two weeks after signing the agreement, which committed about it, says a document of Luxembourg, which cites Reuters.
The text of the country holding the EU presidency, reports that on average 4,000 people arrive daily in Greece from Turkey, from 29 November onwards.
This "slight decrease" over 5,000-6,000 noted that earlier this month, but this, as noted, not necessarily due to the attitude of Ankara.
"This decline can be attributed to other factors," noted in the document, which was sent to EU leaders, in view of the EU summit in Brussels today.
At the "mini" meeting refugee before the summit, discussed the possible form transporting Syrian refugees directly from Turkey.
However, says the Athens agency, many European leaders have stressed that this would depend on the evidence will bring Turkey to prevent traffickers to put the world at sea to Europe.
From this will also depend on the allocation of 3 billion euros to Ankara and relaxation of conditions for issuing visas for Turkish citizens who want to travel to Europe.
