Mini-Summit on the Refugee convene on December 17 the V.Faiman
'Mini' Summit on Refugees, on December 17, before the start of the regular European Council, convened by the Federal Chancellor of Austria, Werner Faymann, who has the role of coordinator of the 28 EU leaders at the refugee response issue crisis.
The meeting, to be held in the Austrian permanent representation in Brussels and will be subject of increased cooperation with Turkey in Refugee and strengthen the protection of EU external borders, will be attended by leaders from Austria, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Sweden and Finland, as well as Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker.
According to observers in Vienna, the aim of the meeting is to examine, in a second round and at the highest political level, the package of measures agreed at the summit in Turkey last Sunday, including a more equitable distribution of refugees in member countries EU and is expected to be discussed and the possibilities of legal entry of refugees into the EU directly from the crisis regions and Turkey. They highlight the role of Greece as a country; key in the refugee crisis.
