Brake "in the building of mosques from Saudi Arabia requesting the Z.Gkampriel

The Vice Germany Sigmar Gabriel said today that Saudi Arabia must stop funding fundamentalist mosques abroad which are accused of fueling extremism.

"Wahhabis funded mosques around the world," from Saudi Arabia said Gabriel on Sunday newspaper Bild am Sonntag. "In Germany, numerous Islamists considered dangerous coming from these communities," he added.

The Wahhabism is a political-religious movement founded in the 18th century by Sheikh Mohammed ben Abdul Wahhabi, co-founder of the Saudi state. It promotes a strict version of Sunni Islam as the first generation of Muslims.

Extremist Islamic organizations, such as the organization Islamic State, inspired by ouachampitiki thought.

The Sigmar Gabriel, who is also Finance Minister and leader of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), partner of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) Angela Merkel within the ruling coalition, called for action against the Salafist mosques in Germany, for which he said that "no less dangerous than the extremists of the right."

"It will prevent Saudi Arabia to fund mosques in Germany," said for his part today in the Welt am Sonntag Thomas Oppermann, the chairman of the parliamentary group of the SPD.

For Oppermann, the Wahhabism offered a "complete ideology in the Islamic State and contribute to the radicalization of moderate Muslims in other countries. It is something that we need and we are not in Germany."

The statements of the leaders of the SPD made a few days after the publication in the press of an internal document of the BND, the German intelligence service, featuring "impulsive" the foreign policy of the Saudi royal family. The document describes the country as a source of instability for the region.

According to the BND, Saudi Arabia is seeking to be recognized as a "leader of the Arab world" with the help of a foreign policy characterized by "a strong military component and new regional alliances."

The German government rejected Friday criticism from the BND and underlined the important diplomatic role of the Saudi government as regards the conflicts in the Middle East.
