As stated by the announcement of the Turkish Foreign Ministry villages of northwestern Syria inhabited by Turkmen were targeted "pummeling" from Russian planes near the border crossing of the Turkish province of Hatay.

The meeting with Russian Ambassador Andrei Karlof, Turkey's government called an immediate end to Russia's military operation carried out near the Turkish border, noted the statement.
