In Nicosia Lavrov and Kerry
With Hello Nicosia visits with a difference of one day, the Foreign Ministers of Russia and USA, major Sergei Lavrov and John Kerry respectively.
In relation to the Cyprus issue in the discussions on the Cyprus Nicosia will mainly focus on security guarantees and concrete, since both countries are permanent members of the UN Security Council.
They will also discuss bilateral and regional issues.
The Russian minister will be in Nicosia on Wednesday and the American counterpart Thursday. Both will be received by President Anastasiades and have talks with Cypriot Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides.
The US Secretary will meet with the Turkish Cypriot leader, Mustafa Akinci in the occupied part of Nicosia.
Mr. Lavrov suggested to Mr. Akinci meeting lunch with President Anastasiades the "dead" zone, but the Turkish Cypriot leader gave a negative answer.
In an interview with the Cyprus News Agency, the Russian minister said he was looking forward to a series of constructive talks and expressed confidence that "the results will provide useful contribution to the development of our bilateral relations for the good of the two peoples, and will assist in strengthening trust in European continent ".
As regards the Cyprus issue said that "there remain a number of issues on which the sides can not reach an agreement" and hoped that "the two communities will demonstrate readiness for compromise, taking into account mutual concerns".
