Divided Germans for their involvement in operations against the ISIS
The Germans are divided about whether the armed forces of the country should be directly involved in military operations against the Islamic state in Syria and Iraq, according to a poll.
52% of respondents opposed to the direct involvement of German armed forces in such operations, while 41% are in favor, according to the poll by Infratest dimap company for the public television network ARD.
Among the voters of parties participating in the coalition there is greater support for a military engagement of Germany against IK, which rejects the majority of voters of Die Linke.
The poll was conducted among 1,000 people after the terrorist attacks Friday in Paris.
Meanwhile 91% of respondents considered it appropriate measures such as increased police presence and checks on persons, while only 5% is afraid that this way will reduce its basic rights, such as the Athens Press Agency reported.
The Germans have long believed that opposition to the war in Iraq and the low-key presence in Afghanistan will not make them terrorist targets.
But after the attacks in Paris German public opinion changed attitude, which was strengthened by the shock of the cancellation of a football match between Germany and the Netherlands in Hanover after a terrorist threat.
Citing a letter from the French Intelligence Service, the newspaper Hannoversche Allgemeine reports that the German authorities had been warned that a group of five people led a German citizen planning to detonate five bombs, including three on the court of Hanover.
Finally there have been no arrests in connection with this case and have not been found and explosives.
