Most Catalans reject the plan of the ruling separatist parties in the region to begin a political process that could lead to full independence of Catalonia from Spain within a year and a half, as evidenced by Metroscopia poll published in El Pais.

According to the same poll, support for independence in the region fell to 41% from 45% before the local elections in September.

Also, the poll recorded a decrease in the rate of acceptance of the current head of the Catalan Government Artur us, who attempted but failed to make an official referendum on independence last year. Almost three quarters of respondents want the most for their leader.
