The Syrian leadership should create channels of communication with the opposition forces that intend to engage in dialogue, said Russian President Vladimir Putin in Club Valntai, noting that Bashar al-Assad is ready for dialogue.
Putin stressed that internal political problems in Syria is one of the causes of the Syrian crisis, the scale of which is due not only to Islamist militants. Meanwhile, the Russian president said that the transition of power in Syria should be under international supervision, and the future of political processes in the country should be decided by the Syrian people.
"We must ensure that the government will be formed on the basis of transparent democratic processes. Clearly we talk about international supervision procedures, among them the election. But this oversight should be objective, "he said and described the dismemberment of Syria the worst solution to the crisis which would result in perpetual war in the region.
