South Korea launched today dozens of artillery rounds toward North Korea after North Korea reportedly fired a missile with a megaphone in South Korea broadcast emissions against Pyongyang, said the defense ministry in Seoul.
North Korea did not respond to this in South shots, he said.
South Korea announced that the forces recognized the trajectory of a projectile allegedly fired by North Korea at around 3.52 pm (9:52 a.m. GMT), which does not seem to cause damage to the loudspeaker or any injuries.
"Our army stepped up its surveillance and closely monitoring military movements in North Korea," he said in a statement the South Korean Defense Ministry, as the Athens Press Agency reported.

The media of North Korea made no mention of fire from North Korea.
The missile fell in an area about 60 km. North of Seoul to the western part of the border area, the defense ministry said. The South Korean residents were ordered to evacuate, according to Yonhap news agency.

The office of President of South Korea announced that it convene a special meeting of the National Security Council, reported Yonhap.
The fire is the first exchange between North and South Korea since last October when North Korean soldiers approached the border and not when the South fell unleashed warning fire. The soldiers of the North returned fire and the firefight lasted about ten minutes, but no one was injured.
The tension between North and South Korea rose after earlier this month two South Korean soldiers were injured by mine explosions in the demilitarized zone (DMZ). Seoul accused North Korea of being responsible for the deaths, a category which Pyongyang denied.
Then Seoul began transmitting propaganda messages against Pyongyang from loudspeakers at the border, repeating a tactic that the two sides had stopped in 2004.
North Korea demanded Saturday from South Korea to stop emissions threatening that otherwise would take military action Monday started transmitting its own emissions.
Furthermore, the joint US military exercises are ongoing with South Korea that started Monday and which North Korea sees as preparation for war.
