French President Francois Hollande and Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany requested today from Berlin a "unified" Europe's response to the immigration crisis in a joint statement issued.

"You have to put in place a single asylum system," said the French president told reporters at a joint press conference with Chancellor Merkel, stressing that it is an "unusual situation that will last."

Merkel side noted that although the European Union has had the same status with regard to asylum, then all countries would have to implement "as soon as possible."

The Chancellor also expressed its desire to set up this year by the record centers of immigrants "in the first entry countries such as Greece and Italy." None of these centers, which would separate the immigrants who are entitled to asylum from the rest is not up to date although their establishment was decided in late June. "We can not accept such a delay," he said.

Hollande, stressing that France and Germany are "solidarity" in this regard, once again asked for "an equitable distribution of refugees entitled to asylum" in European countries and "the dignified repatriation of those who pass illegally" in Europe.
