The President Erdogan declares that it shall not enter any issue of withdrawal of Turkish troops from Iraq
O President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said today that excludes the possibility that Turkish troops be withdrawn from Iraq after Baghdad accused Ankara of developed military units in the Iraqi territory without obtaining the permission of the Iraqi government.
Speaking at a press conference, the Turkish President stated that Turkish troops are in Iraq to train Kurdish fighters, the peshmerga, and that is not going to get involved in fights.
He acknowledged that it held a tripartite meeting between Turkey, the US and the Kurdish authorities in northern Iraq on December 21, but made no mention of the possibility of a meeting with the Iraqi government.
