The Hungarian authorities closed refugees crossing point on the border with Serbia
The Hungarian authorities today closed the main crossing point refugees and migrants on the border with Serbia, proceeding to implement stricter measures to deal with the unprecedented flow of people trying to reach the European Union.
Dozens of police officers with helmets took positions along a railway line that crosses the border and employ tens of thousands of refugees and migrants, many of them from Syria to enter the EU territory from Serbia. The area had also developed units of the army and the Mounted Police, while a helicopter flies in the area.
The Hungarian police has guided hundreds of refugees and immigrants, including families with small children, the border crossing Horgos 2, about a kilometer from there, but this crossing point was closed.
The movements of Budapest occurred just hours before the entry into force of new laws that give authorities the ability to arrest and imprison anyone who attempted to enter the territory of Hungary from Serbia illegally detain and deport asylum seekers.
