US President Donald Trump predicted today that efforts to tackle the consequences and rebuild the areas affected by the Harvey storm will be very "costly" and added that he will discuss this with the US Congress as he prepares To tour the affected areas.
Speaking to reporters at the Oval Office, Trab praised the authorities of Texas for their efforts to help victims in flooded areas in Houston and the outskirts of the American city where unprecedented rainfall occurred over the last 24 hours.
"We are talking to Congress. As you know, it will be a very costly situation, "Trab said.
The republican president plans to visit Texas tomorrow Tuesday. He is expected to return on Saturday, and may make a stopover in Louisiana, where the rain continues.
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the House of Representatives, Republican Paul Ryan, has assured members of the Congress that they will help those affected by the tropical storm Harvey, who left at least 30,000 temporary homeless people in Houston.
"We will help those affected by this terrible disaster. The first step in this process is to make a formal request to the government to (disburse federal) resources, "said Ryan's spokesman Asley Strong.
