French President Emmanuel Macron promised today a "profound change," "action," and "efficiency" in response to "the impatience of the French", in his lengthy official speech to the French Congress, of the joint sitting of senators and senators held in Palace of Versailles.
"I deeply believe that with our recent choices, our people are asking us to take a radically new path", "to reconnect with the spirit of conquest," said the head of the state, who came to Versailles to present the great orientations Of his five-year presidential mandate to deputies and senators.
In a river speech, he mainly proposed to reduce by one third the number of senators and deputies and to modify the way in which parliament was elected by introducing "a proportional installment" so that "all sensitivities are fairly represented in it".
"A less numerous parliament but strengthened in its media is a parliament where work is better flowing (...) is a working parliament better," he said, calling for "action" and "efficiency" at all levels of power .
Makron stressed his will to "replenish" institutional reform "within a year of now", even by putting the new provisions in a referendum, "if necessary".
"I want to abstain from half-meters and decorations," said the president who wants to "restore between the French and the Republic the relationship that has been dismantled by the mechanical exercise of power."
