Citizens of countries that have discontinued diplomatic relations with Qatar are free to remain in the emirate under the existing regulations, a statement by the interior ministry of the country yesterday published by the state agency QNA.
As the announcement underlines, there has been no change in the country's policy towards nationals of "sister and friendly countries that have broken down or downgraded diplomatic relations after the malicious and hostile campaigns against Qatar".
Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Egypt and other countries broke off diplomatic relations with Qatar on Monday accusing the Emirate of supporting extremist Islamists and Iran.
