The US withdrawal of the Paris climate agreement could result in an increase of 0.3 degrees Celsius in the Earth's temperature by the end of the century with the worst scenario, a World Meteorological Organization (WMO) The UN.
Dean Terblanz, head of the Department of Environment and Research at the World Health Organization (WHO), said this figure is an estimate as no new models have been used to assess the likely impact of the decision announced by US President Donald Trub on Thursday.
"There is an additional 0.3 points in overheating because of the US withdrawal," Terplin said at a regular press conference in Geneva. "This is the worst scenario, and it is likely that it will not happen."
The Paris agreement, which was signed by nearly 200 countries in 2015, aimed to limit the rise in Earth's temperature to two degrees or less by 2100 compared to the pre-industrial era, mainly through promises to reduce its emissions of dioxide Coal and other emissions from the combustion of fossil fuels.
The UN described Tramp's decision as "a great disappointment for global efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to promote global security."
Asked if Trab is right when he says the US will continue to be the most environmentally friendly country in the world, Terbils said the president's announcement was complicated and would take some time to analyze.
