The CIA is targeting ... junk snacks

The US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has admitted that it has been a victim for a period of several months in 2013 of thieves with a special talent in computing, who grabbed ... $ 3,300 snacks from the vending machines of its offices.

The "villains" stole potato chips, chocolates and other snacks. They were not secret agents or ex-hunters of jihadists but CIA subcontractors, as revealed by a report by the general inspector of the service, which was released this week.

The report has been publicized at the request of the BuzzFeed newsletter journalist Jason Liopold on the basis of the Freedom of Information Act.

The agents paid the snacks with a FreedomPay prepaid card. One of them discovered that by disconnecting the cables from FreedomPay's intangible payment systems, vending machines received cards that had no money.
The actor shared his idea with his friends, who in turn dismantled the machines and supplied free snacks of their choice.
The CIA has been able to detect fraud by installing cameras near the machines.
The thief "confessed that this idea came to him (?) Because of his knowledge of computer systems".
Members of the network were identified, interrogated and then dismissed.
