Berlin would like to revoke the decision on Brexit

The withdrawal of Britain's decision to leave the EU would be an excellent development, though it seems unlikely, German Economy Minister Brigitte Tsipris told Reuters.

Her statements, which were released today, are in line with similar statements by French President Emmanuel Makron and German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble, who have said that the EU door remains open for Britain until the negotiations on Brexit are completed.

"I think it would be great if they recalled the Brexit decision," Tsipris said in an interview.

"However, this scenario seems to me unrealistic."

The German minister added that both sides should now proceed as scheduled with the UK blockade talks commenting that "this will not be easy, but it is possible a compromise."

As Tsipris said, she was saddened by Britain's decision to leave the EU and pointed out her ministry's inquiries showing that Brexit is likely to cause more damage to Britain's economy than to Germany's largest one in Europe.
