The Russian president, with a decree signed today, has suspended, as announced by the Kremlin, a series of financial sanctions against Turkey following the shooting of the Russian S-24 fighter bomber by a Turkish fighter in the airspace of Syria in November 2015.
According to the Kremlin, sanctions were lifted regarding the hiring of Turkish workers employed in Russia, as well as the activities of Turkish companies in various sectors of the economy.
The Russian President has authorized the Russian Foreign Ministry to inform Ankara about the partial renewal of the agreement on the terms on which citizens of both countries can visit each other's country, which was signed in 2010. Also the Russian President, with this decree, extended the accusations of Turkish citizens who would be able to visit Russia without a visa.
At this stage, the exceptions are those of Turkish airline crews, service card holders who visit Russia on business and for a short period of time, as well as members of their families.
