A 12-year-old tried to cross Australia, but after 14 hours of driving and after covering more than 1,000 kilometers, the police stopped, the authorities said today. The 12-year-old had begun from the east Australian village of Kendall and the police stopped him in Broken Hill.
He planned to drive about 4,000 kilometers to Perth in the west of Australia but was unlucky because the police stopped him because of the broken bumper hanging from the car, according to a New South Wales police report.
The route from Kendall to Perth by car can last for more than 40 hours. Drivers cross the whole country through deserts with extremely high temperatures. Australia is the sixth largest country in the world with an area approximately 50% larger than Europe.
