Five dead from the helicopter fall in Istanbul



A member of the Turkish group Eczacibasi pharmaceuticals and household products and four Russian occupants, including the director of Russian business group, aboard the helicopter that crashed today in Istanbul, killing five people, said the president of the company.

A total of seven people aboard the helicopter, including two Turks who were crew members when it crashed shortly after takeoff from Istanbul Ataturk Airport.

The Bulent Etzatsimpasi, speaking to reporters, did not specify what were the five people who died and who survived.

Earlier the television network NTV reported that a helicopter carrying senior business executives crashed into a Turkish highway, killing five occupants, having hit a television tower in an area outside of Istanbul.

The CNN reported, citing Turkish officials, that the seven people aboard the helicopter were three Turks, two of them pilots, and four foreigners. The DHA news agency reported that four Russians aboard the helicopter.
