Brussels: Seven wounded by an explosion in a house, possibly a gas leak


Seven people were injured, including one seriously, by an explosion in a house in Brussels, said a spokesman for the fire department of the Belgian capital.

"This powerful explosion destroyed two three-storey houses. Altogether there are seven wounded, including one seriously," the spokesman said, without specifying the cause of the explosion.

However, according to the website of the Belgian public television RTBF probably the accident due to gas leakage. The fire brigade spokesman was unable to confirm this information.

On March 22, 2016 Brussels experienced the worst terrorist attacks in history, killing 32 people and wounding more than 320. Since then, the security services are on alert and any "unusual" episode of great mobilization and interest media.
