The CIA believes that Russia intervened in the US presidential election to be elected, the Trump
The American CIA spy agency concluded that Russia intervened in this year's US presidential election to help Donald Trump be elected to the White House and not just undermining confidence in the American electoral system, he said in yesterday's publication of the Washington Post newspaper.
Citing US officials received information about the issue, the Post points out that the intelligence services have identified individuals who have links with the Russian government and that granted to WikiLeaks thousands of emails illegally obtained from the national Democratic party committee and other accounts, as the head of the presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton.
Officials described the people as people known to members of the intelligence services, noting that formed part of a larger operation in Moscow to boost the Trump candidacy and reduce Clinton election chances.
"It is an assessment of intelligence services that target of Russia in the country was to favor one candidate over the other and help him Trump to be elected to the presidency," said the newspaper said a senior US official. "This is the consensus view," he said.
According to the Post, the official was informed of a presentation of information services held by the CIA in senators behind closed doors last week.
