The murder of the Russian ambassador in Turkey was a terrible news for the Russian President Vladimir Putin, who described the fact that a terrorist attack, said today the representative of the Kremlin Dmitry Peskov.
"Vladimir Putin condemned in the strongest possible terms this challenge. The featured a terrorist attack, a human tragedy because he was a terrible news for the president," said Peskov on MIR TV channel.
Kremlin spokesman even said, according to RIA news agency that the murder of the Russian ambassador in Turkey brought a serious blow to Ankara.
"Certainly this is a blow to the prestige of the country," said Peskov.
The website of the Kremlin says Putin posthumously awarded the ambassador, Andrei Karlof, the medal of Hero of Russia, the highest military distinction.
