Escalating political crisis in Poland


Exclusion of parliament from the protesters, the conference room under katalipsin by opposition MPs, allegations of fraud during the vote on the adoption of laws and threats to press freedom: the political crisis in Poland escalated into open conflict this weekend.

Thousands of anti-government protesters marched through the streets of Warsaw to reach up to the parliament building protected by a large police force, while the entrance is forbidden for journalists.
Smaller scale demonstrations were held in other cities of Poland.
"Shame", "stop the destruction of Poland", "Free media", "Freedom, equality, democracy," chanted the protesters holding Polish and European flags. But slogans referring personally to the strong man of the ultra-conservative, populist ruling of Fair and Justice (PiS) Jaroslaw Kaczynski, calling him a dictator, now heard in the streets of Warsaw.

"I do not want to see Poland be abused" by PiS, the alloying Malgorzata said, a 60 year old woman from the crowd of demonstrators in Warsaw.

Ms. Alloyed, like other anti-government protesters of all the trends reported in the attack of "good change" that has launched the populist party, reforming education, paving the fall of the Constitutional Court, by imposing control over the public media and limiting the rights of demonstrators.

On all these fronts, added conflicts with environmentalists, with the miners, and reset the case of the aircraft crash that was carrying President Lech Kaczynski, twin brother Jaroslaw, in 2010 in Russia and the exhumation of the victims, who disturbed part of the public.

Marches and gatherings followed the unprecedented events of the night, when hundreds of people blocked their Parliament building blocking exits for several hours the departure of members of the ruling majority, the Prime Minister Beata Sintlo and PiS leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski.
Responding to the appeal of the movement for the defense of democracy KOD and opposition parties, demonstrators protested the introduction of new regulations limiting the Members' access to the media and against the adoption of the 2017 budget under conditions of lawlessness, according to opposition .The convoy of cars removed from parliament after their evacuation by police forces to Sintlo, Kaczynski and many members of PiS crossed the crowd in the early hours.
