German Foreign Minister Steinmeier: The US "split" after the end of the campaign
Campaigning "divided" the US and recommends a "difficult legacy" for the 45th President of America, said today the head of German diplomacy Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
"We in Europe, as well as many American citizens, we are pleased that this particular campaign was completed. Leaves behind a difficult legacy for those who will take power in the future, and divided the country, "he stated German Foreign Minister after a meeting with his counterparts from Sweden, Denmark and Finland.
"It will be difficult for the next US president to close the gap between the political camps, which still deeper" was underlined.
The German minister was anxious not to make any statements about the impact that could have the election in diplomatic relations between the US and Germany.
