Five dead and 50 wounded by tram derailed in London
At least five dead in the derailment of a tram tunnel of Croydon, in south London this morning, British police said.
The driver of the tram was arrested.
Earlier, police had announced that more than 50 people were injured and two were still trapped in the debris.
According to the London ambulance service transported 51 wounded to hospitals, some of whom are in serious condition. In the area of the accident rushed eight fire engines, five rescue units and at least 70 firefighters trying to extricate occupants trapped.
