Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan said today that the European Parliament vote to stop the European Union accession negotiations with Ankara "in our eyes has no value" and accused and Europe again that takes place terrorist organizations.
"We have made it clear time and again that we care more European values in many EU countries, but we have not seen specific support from our Western friends ... None of the promises have not been fulfilled," said the Turkish president during Conference of Islamic Cooperation Organization in Istanbul.
"There will be a meeting in the European Parliament tomorrow, and vote for the EU talks with Turkey, whatever the outcome, this vote has no value in our eyes."
Leading members of the European Parliament have called for suspending accession EU-Turkey negotiations because of widespread persecution that followed the failed coup attempt of July.
More than 125,000 people -amongst soldiers, academics, judges, journalists and Kurdish leaders - have been arrested or fired for allegedly supported the coup, in a campaign according to dissent, advocacy organizations for human rights and some Western allies is attempt to suppress any contrary voice.
Erdogan and many Turks are angry about Western reaction to the attempted coup, considering that more interested in the rights of the conspirators on the severity of the same events. Erdogan has repeatedly accused Europe that gives shelter to the PKK members. Erdogan continues to refer to the presence of demonstrators, sympathizers of the PKK near the site of the EU-Turkey Summit in March in Brussels and blames the EU for duplicity.
"On the one hand you characterize the PKK terrorist organization and on the other you have terrorists roam freely in the streets of Brussels. What kind of sincerity is that? "He said today.
