Former British Prime Minister David Cameron resigned from office

David Cameron today announced that resigns; the decision to have immediate effect; from holding the office, three months after leaving the prime minister of Britain gown, the day after the referendum in favor of Brexit.

"As I see it, the political environment has been formed today and given the circumstances of my resignation, it is not really possible to remain an effective member as I was prime minister," said Cameron in an interview with ITV television network.

"I think that whatever you do distract from what the government must do for our country," he stressed, who was prime minister from 2010 to 2016.

The former prime minister was elected in the constituency of Whitney by June 2001.

Appeared until recently "very keen" on the idea to remain in Oxfordshire MP, while assuring that it intended to run for a new term in 2020.

Three months later, however, he changed his mind causing surprise to the public. Traditionally former prime ministers retain their seat for some years before surrender.

"After mature reflection this summer, I concluded that the best decision was to resign my seat in Goutnei ..." he said.

David Cameron also offered "its full support to Teresa Mei", who succeeded him on July 13 in Downing Street and under the governance of which "is sure that Britain will experience prosperity."
