Turkey: Gathering for Democracy in Istanbul while continuing persecution
Concentration for democracy is scheduled for today in Taksim Square in Istanbul, eight days after the failed coup and mass persecution continued by the Turkish government.
The invitation for gathering in Istanbul sent the largest opposition party, the Republican People's Party (CHP, social democratic). The president's Justice and Development Party (AKP islamosyntiritiko) Recep Tayyip Erdogan participated in this call.
