Interim leader Turkish armed forces: The coup attempt failed
The military coup that shook Turkey during the last night, failed, announced Gen. Umit Ntountar, interim chief of the Turkish armed forces, stating that killed 104 coup.
"The coup attempt failed," he said Ntountar told reporters in Istanbul. He confirmed that 90 persons --41 policemen, two soldiers and 47 polites-- "fell as martyrs" during the violence.
General also stated that many military commanders detained hostage by coup soldiers.
He added in his statement, which was broadcast live by CNN Turk, that Turkey has "closed chapter" of coups for good and will never open again.
However, the Turkish president called side via Twitter people to remain in the streets and warned that there could be "new ignition".
"The coup failed thanks to full allengyi that exists between our Supreme Commander and President, our Prime Minister and the Turkish armed forces," said General Ntountar, replacing interim chief of staff Gen. Houlousi Akar. The latter was held by the rebels overnight, before being released to military operation against pragmatooiithike an air base on the outskirts of Ankara.
General Ntountar also confirmed that 1,563 soldiers have been arrested in connection with the bloody coup, during which the rebels have used fighter planes and tanks.
The Ntountar also said that the armed forces of Turkey are determined to eliminate from their ranks the "parallel structure members". The President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and others use the expression "parallel structure" when referring to supporters of Muslim preacher Fethullah Gulen.
