The announcement of the name of David Cameron's successor as British prime minister will be delayed by one week and will take place on September 9, announced today the ruling Conservative Party.
A party spokesman said that the nominations for the leadership of the Conservatives and, consequently, for prime minister, will start tomorrow, Wednesday and will end Thursday.
"In order to ensure full participation of States, recommend the date of announcement of the leader to be the September 9, 2016" the Commission said in 1922 a communication sent by email.
