Telecommunications Putin - Obama on Syria


The Kremlin announced that the presidents of Russia and the USA Vladimir Putin and Barack Obama had a telephone conversation, in which favored boosting the political process settlement of the conflict in Syria. The Russian President announced his US counterpart that Russian troops will begin to withdraw from Syria, having fulfilled their "key objectives in the fight against terrorism," said the Kremlin.

"The Presidents advocated stepping up the process of political settlement of the Syrian conflict and expressed their support for the talks starting in Geneva under UN auspices between the Syrian government and the opposition", also referred to the statement.

The White House then announced that Presidents Obama and Putin had a telephone conversation on the Syrian crisis.

Barack Obama welcomed the reduction of military force by the start of the ceasefire in Syria, announced the White House, adding that Obama and Putin discussed the issue of Ukraine and the US President stressed the need for coordination between the Russian and aftonomisitkes forces in eastern Ukraine on the implementation of the ceasefire.
