O Secretary General Ban Ki-moon United Nations denounced the present restrictions imposed on refugees in the country borders in the Balkans.

Ban stressed that these measures taken by many countries in the region (Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia) "not consistent" with the 1951 Refugee Convention.

This contract, he explains in a statement, requires determined separately for each refugee status and the need to protect every immigrant, something that is no longer possible due to the measures taken by these countries.

Ban stressed that "following with great concern the increasing and growing number of restrictive measures imposed on the border along the Balkan route".

He confirmed that "is fully aware of the pressures that are felt in many European countries."
