Steinmeier: neither Berlin nor Washington nor Moscow wants the anti-terrorist operation in Syria last years
Neither Russia nor the United States nor Germany want to get involved in a long-running anti-terrorist operation in Syria, said German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
"No one has an interest - neither the Americans nor we, nor the Russians - this mission take years," said Frank-Walter Steinmeier, as reported by the German agency.
From Belgrade, where he took part in the meeting of Foreign Ministers of member countries of the OSCE, Steinmeier stressed that even considers it necessary to find a way of political settlement of the crisis in Syria.
Earlier today the Bundestag, the federal lower house of Germany approved the country's participation in the campaign in Syria against the Islamic State (IK). A mandate for the mission of German armed forces will last until 31 December 2016. The cost is estimated to be EUR 131 million. Euros and the mission will involve some 1,200 members of the German army with different tasks.
