Signal for a possible attack on EU capitals celebrations


An information service "friendly country" warned many European capitals that are likely to attack with gunfire or bombs in Europe before the New Year, announced by the police of Vienna.

"Reported many names of possible perpetrators, which tested and research based (in these tests) so far has not yielded concrete results," noted the statement issued six weeks after deadly attacks in Paris that claimed the lives of 130 people .

"Before Christmas was sent a warning by a friendly service (information) in many European capitals, saying that it could be noted an attack with explosives or gunfire in the period between Christmas and New Year in busy places" the statement said.

Police said the Athens Press Agency quoted to Reuters, did not specify which service and which country sent this warning but asked the Austrians to "understanding" for the tightening of controls.

In additional measures implemented include strengthening storage in busy areas, "especially in events and traffic hubs" and the identification of objects and controls, such as bags, which could carry no explosives.
