Over 25,000 fighters have joined terrorist organizations
Over 25,000 people from around the world are joining extremist armed groups and fighting in their ranks, said Wednesday Philippe Bouagia, head of the Directorate General of Human Rights and the State Council of Europe Law.
"Today there are more than 25,000 foreign fighters in terrorist organizations, coming from over 100 different countries around the world and 6,000 of them are Europeans," said Bouagia the conference of the international association of prosecutors in the Russian city of Sochi.
As he stressed, the fighters they raise threats to the security of the countries of which they are nationals, on their return to infrastructure likely to mount terrorist attacks or indulge in membership recruitment and radicalization of others.
