Iran: By the end of 2015 the delivery of S-300 from Russia




Iran will receive the bulk of Russian S-300 missile systems by the end of the year, said Tuesday evening the Iranian Defense Minister Hossein Dejes on state television.

"We signed a contract with Russia. Currently applicable. You receive by the end of the year most of these systems," said Dejes.

"Our forces this time trained in Russia" for the operation of these systems, he added, as the Athenian Press Agency.

On Monday, the Russian group equipment Rostekhnologuii (Rostec) announced the signing of the contract delivery to Tehran S-300 missiles, the sale of which was banned in 2010 before again allowed in April by Vladimir Putin.

The Iranian minister added that Iran would receive a "streamlined and updated" version of missiles S-300, as the initial contract of 2007 related to missiles that were made then.

The contract that was suspended by the president of Russia Dmitry Medvedev in implementation of UN resolution 1929, which imposed sanctions on Tehran's controversial nuclear program.

But Vladimir Putin has lifted a ban in April considering that the framework agreement signed in Lausanne on nuclear Iran among major powers and Tehran, which were followed in July a definitive agreement allows.

His decision angered Israel and the resentment of Westerners.
