Dora. Cameron: Britain will reinforce the staff in intelligence and airports
Britain will reinforce the staff of the intelligence services of 15% and more than double the funding of aviation security to meet the growing threat of the Islamists, said Prime Minister David Cameron yesterday.
In a written statement from Turkey, where he has gone to attend the summit of the 20 largest economies of the world, Cameron said that as part of a broader five-year review of defense and security will be released on November 23, the government will add 1,900 officers in secret services of the country and will change the security process on passenger flights.
The current budget for security at airports is about 12.7 million euros (9 million. Pounds) a year, a figure which it intends to more than double over the next five years. The funding will allow qualified personnel to provide assistance to international airports - especially in the Middle East and North Africa where many British tourists traveling - in staff, equipment and training. In addition, the government will fund research into detection technology risks.
