Migration flows in the Luxembourg Conference
With the big headache of Europe, migration, will address today in Luxembourg at a conference on migration flows in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Western Balkans, the ministers of EU external and enlarged circle of representatives of the parties involved. The issues are mainly three strengthening first asylum countries, the fight against mobsters traffickers and address the root causes of the refugee crisis.
Given the formulated Hollande positions and Merkel on "common European border" and "obsolete Dublin Agreement", the conference will explore ways to strengthen the countries of first reception of refugees from Syria (Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan) and support transit countries in order to improve reception and registration of asylum claims procedures. The policy of "Tic Tac Toe" will be complemented by the "examination and to promote transnational cooperation in the fight against organized crime and human trafficking." Purpose and aim of all this remains to address the root causes of the refugee crisis and joint action with the countries of origin of irregular migrants.
At this critical conference regardless of their decisions will be taken - involving all parties and their representatives. There will be chaired by EU High Representative Federica Mogkerini and the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Immigration of Luxembourg Tz. "Asselborn on behalf of the Luxembourg Presidency of the EU Council, will participate and Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias with his counterparts and interior ministers / Migration of the member of the EU, Schengen associated countries (Switzerland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Iceland), the Western Balkans as well as Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan. Will also join the European Neighbourhood Policy and Accession Negotiations J. Hahn, Immigration, Home Affairs and Citizenship Forum. Avramopoulos and Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management Ch. Stylianidis, and representatives of relevant EU agencies, the United Nations and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
