Uncontrolled refugee flows in Mytilene
Uncontrolled flows of migrants and refugees in Lesvos the last three days. Taking advantage of the good weather, the last weekend went on Lesvos more than 7,000 immigrants and refugees, most with hundreds of plastic boats that reached the north coast of the island between Skala Sykamnias and Molyvos. All of them coming from the area of ancient Assos (now Bechramkale) on the north coast of the Gulf Adramytinou Turkey.
Today Thursday, and until 12 noon, they had disembarked on Lesvos more than 1,500 people.
According to the existing planning going ashore and depending on the nationality of each other Syrians led the camp of Kara Tepe, three kilometers north of Mytilene. There are recorded by crews of Greek Police and the Coast Guard and employees of the region North Aegean and the General Secretariat of Aegean and island policy. Immediately following recording left free to leave the island.
