According to the Special Report Deterioration forecast issued Sunday by the National Meteorological Service (EMY) temporary deterioration will present the weather in many parts of western and northern country from the evening until midday Monday (17-08- 2015).

Showers in places powerful accompanied by strengthened winds and hailstorms will occur in the evening hours in the Ionian Islands, Epirus, Western Central, likely in northwestern Peloponnese and gradually in Western and Central Macedonia.
Citizens can be updated daily for the development of extraordinary weather in regular weather reports of CMH and the CMH website online at www.emy.gr.
The General Secretariat for Civil Protection (www.civilprotection.gr) of the Ministry of Interior and Administrative Reconstruction, has informed the competent official concerned government agencies and the regions and municipalities of the country, to be at increased civil protection preparedness, to tackle directly impacts the onset of severe weather phenomena.
Furthermore, the General Secretariat for Civil Protection advises the public to be especially careful, taking care to self measures against the dangers arising from the event of severe weather phenomena.

In particular, in areas where the occurrence of intense storms rain down:
· To insure items that you dragged from the severe weather may cause damage or injuries.
· Be sure that gutters and downspouts of housing are not clogged and functioning normally.
· To avoid cross torrents and streams on foot or by car during an event of dangerous weather events, as well as for several hours after the event.
· To avoid field work and activities in marine and coastal areas during the event of severe weather phenomena.
· To immediately protect themselves during a hail. To resort to a building or a car and do not leave the secure area until they are satisfied that the storm passed. The hail can be very dangerous for animals.
· To follow strictly the instructions of the locally competent bodies such as Traffic etc.
