The text against the introduction of the First Lady's position for Brigitte Makron, which has been in circulation for two weeks on the Internet, has garnered more than 190,000 signatures and aims to block the plans of the French President.
"There is no reason for the State Chief's wife to obtain a budget from public resources," it says in the text published on change.org on the initiative of Thierry Paul Vallet, presented as "painter, writer and active citizen."
"Brigitte Makron currently has a team of two or three associates, as well as two secretaries and two guards," the text refers to the economies the government wants to make.
"We strongly condemn all the sexist attacks against Brigitte Makron and we do not question its abilities," he said.
"However, at a period of moralizing French civilian life," with the adoption in early August of a bill banning the employment of members of the family of ministers and deputies as their associates, "we can not approve the initiative to establish a special regime for Spouse of the Head of State ".
During the election campaign, Emmanuel Makron stated that his wife would have a "public role" if he was elected president of France, "to end French hypocrisy," but "will not burden the French taxpayer."
