The prime ministers of the Visegrad Group countries (Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia) today denounced the "blackmail" and "command" received from Brussels on a common EU immigration policy.
The prime ministers of the four countries that reject mandatory quotas for the relocation of refugees in all EU countries met today in Warsaw and declared their clear disagreement with the idea to link the provision of European funds to the implementation of the common immigration policy.
"The idea to connect the resources of the EU in due our part to immigration policy is poor. As the Visegrad group, we can not let that intimidate us," said Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in the joint press conference with his counterparts the Czech Bohuslav Sobotka, Robert Fico of Slovakia and Poland Beata Szydło.
"The group of Visegrad, Poland including, will never accept this blackmail, nor to the dictate terms. We say clearly that immigration policy followed to date by the EU is not proved sufficient and should draw conclusions," he said by the side of the Sintlo.
On the occasion of that meeting the Orban praised the measures taken by his country to stop migrants: the fences built on the border of Hungary with Serbia and the controversial law currently in force and provides for the detention of migrants. "Henceforth, Hungary is able to respond, even if the EU-Turkey agreement does not work. We are able to stop each wave of immigration in oungroservika border," he said.
According to Orban, whose country protects and other European countries: "The Austrians and Germans can now sleep peacefully," he said.
