Newly elected US president Donald Trump invited Teresa Mei to visit him as soon as possible during their first telephone conversation after his election victory, announced today the British prime minister's office.
The head of the British government and Obama agreed that relations between the US and Britain are "very important and very special and that strengthening them will be a priority for both" highlighted in a statement.
"The newly elected president of Trump noted the close personal relationships and warm feelings towards Britain. He said he is convinced that the special relationship between (the two countries) will increasingly strengthened "added the statement.
Teresa Mei said side that hopes to strengthen bilateral trade and investment with the US, as the country will leave the European Union.
