Putin: Moscow and Washington close to an agreement on Syria
Russia and the US are close to reaching an agreement on Syria, despite their differences regarding what is the best way to resolve the conflict, said today the Russian president Vladimir Putin to Bloomberg.
In this interview, he gave the news agency two days before the start of the G20 in China, which will be attended by US President Barack Obama and other heads of government, Putin added that talks between Moscow and Washington on Syria is very difficult, but in the right direction.
"In my view we are moving gradually in the right direction," noted Putin, according to the text of the interview given to Bloomberg, which was published by the Kremlin.
"I do not exclude that in the near future can not agree on something and show the agreement in the global community," he added.
