Spain: Mariano Rajoy did not secure the vote of confidence the parliament to form a government
The caretaker Prime Minister of Spain Mariano Rajoy lost, as expected, voting to provide confidence vote in parliament after failing to garner enough support from opposition parties.
This means that the country is heading for conducting the third general elections within a year. If you do not find a solution within the next two months the parliament will be automatically dissolved on 31 October and will be launched new parliamentary elections, which will probably be held on Christmas Day.
The Rajoy, the leader of the conservative Popular Party (PP) has secured 170 votes in parliament 350meles six fewer than are needed to form a government.
The centrist, liberal Ciudadanos party and a small local Canarian party gave their vote, but the Socialists (PSOE), the left alliance Unidos Podemos and local parties of the Basque Country and Catalonia voted against.
