The Brexit would be irreversible, warns the British Foreign Minister Philip Hammond
A British exit from the EU would be "irreversible", today warned the Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond, recognizing that the result of the "Battle of the referendum" will be judged marginally.
"It is an irrevocable decision. If you decide to withdraw (from the EU) will not be returning. Britain will never again be reinstated in the EU later only under conditions that would be unacceptable," such as for example the obligation to join the eurozone and the Schengen Zone, explained Hammond on arrival at the meeting of foreign ministers of EU member states in Luxembourg.
The Hammond reiterated the message that continuously sends recent months British Prime Minister David Cameron. "It is clear that Britain's interest to remain the EU" member, he said.
The British minister added that he would remind his European counterparts that London "expects the quick and full implementation" of reforms agreed since Britain left the EU.
