Turkey: Controlled explosion in backpack in Istanbul's Taksim Square
Elenchomeni explosion conducted by the Turkish police in a backpack that was located on Taksim Square in Istanbul today, reported Reuters news agency, hours after the US embassy warned US citizens about "credible threats" in tourist areas.
The police blocked access to the square, and a member of the police explosive devices neutralization group opened an object that looked like a backpack or bag. The deminers then carried out a controlled explosion blasting it, so to hear a strong click on the square.
